For now though, Kerbal Space Program 2 is still planned to release on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Update 8:35 p.m.: Kerbal Space Program 2 will launch in 2022. There are no further hints as to a narrower release window but given that the game was originally due in Q1, we'd expect a release date to fall closer to Summer 2020, rather than the end of the year or slipping into 2021. Kerbal Space Program 2 was originally planned for a 2020 release, and has already been delayed twice. What this essentially means is that the game will no longer release between January and March 31st 2020 and will instead arrive sometime between April 2020 and March 31st 2021. Take-Two is publishing Kerbal Space Program 2 and as part of its latest earnings report, the publisher confirmed that the game is now part of the FY2021 release calendar. With that in mind, the developers are going to need a bit more time, pushing Kerbal Space Program 2 into the FY2021 release calendar. 'Kerbal Space Program 2, the sequel to the beloved original space sim, is now planned for launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, in fiscal 2021, in order to allow more time to make the experience as terrific as possible,' Take-Two president Karl Slatoff said during an investors call.
However, as always, game development is a dynamic job where problems can sneak up when you least expect them. Kerbal Space Program 2 was announced at Gamescom in August with an early 2020 release date.
